Know the business. Build it right, fast. Measure everything.

Product and design are the same discipline. Own what gets built and how it looks, feels, and performs. Integrated accountability creates ownership. Separation creates handoffs.

Be right 98% of the time. Prioritize intelligently, learn fast, build a team that covers the rest. Kill or fix what doesn't work, even if the team loved building it.

Design for the product, the user, and the brand – in that order. When it works, the user doesn't notice it and the dashboard does. KPIs are the voice of design. Brand is the consistency that earns trust.

AI changes the ratio, not the job. Production gets cheaper. The human's job shifts to judging, not making – maintaining quality, making decisions that require context. Smaller teams, higher standards.

Data tells you what. Feedback tells you why. Instrument everything, then go talk to the people using it. Metrics show where to look. Conversations show what to do.

Color

Dark foundation with warm neutrals. Gold accent (#c9a96e) used sparingly for interactive elements, labels, and emphasis – never for backgrounds.

Typography

DM Serif Display

DM Sans – Light 300

Serif for headings and names – warmth and authority. Sans-serif at light weight for body – clean, modern, and readable. No bold in body text; hierarchy comes from size and color, not weight.

Motion

Scroll-triggered reveals with staggered delays. Timeline draws itself on scroll. Bouncing gold tracer on the hero divider. Cards lift on hover. All animations use ease-out curves and stay under 600ms. Nothing loops except the tracer – motion should feel responsive, not decorative.

Interaction

KPI cards expand on click. Outcome cards expand to reveal context. Shipped items open detail modals with impact bars. Photo opens a lightbox. The nav stays persistent on desktop, hides on scroll on mobile. Several secrets are hidden for anyone paying attention.

Layout

Single column, 960px max-width. Generous but purposeful spacing – 32px between sections. Content-first hierarchy: every element earns its place. Section labels use extending lines to create horizontal rhythm across the full width.

Texture

Subtle SVG noise overlay at 4% opacity gives the dark background a tactile quality without being visible at a glance. Grain prevents the flat-black-screen feeling common to dark themes. Card surfaces sit one step lighter (#161614) to create depth without shadows.
